The National Clandestine Service : The Secret Part of the CIA
A branch of the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Clandestine Agency is responsible for directing all covert operations involving infiltration and collection of human intelligence (HUMINT). Although operations by the Clandestine Service are not revealed to the public, the structure of the organization has been known since the branch's creation in 1951, when it was created as one of the CIA's four main branches.

Operations Officers - these NCS officials recruit, train, and brief specialized operatives on their respective assignments.
Collection Management Officers - these officials are in charge of maintaining the influx and recording of incoming information received from operatives on their covert assignments.
Staff Operation Officers - these officials collaborate with Operations Officers by locating and formulating operations and assignments that require the use of clandestine operatives to infiltrate and obtain information.
Targeting Officers - these officials oversee complex NCS operations from headquarters and guide active operatives.
Paramilitary Operations Officers - these NCS officials are the active operatives who work under the Special Activities Division and engage in unconventional (and often illegal) warfare - assassination, sabotage, torture, aggressive interrogation, and training guerrillas are specialties of Paramilitary Officers. They often operate in areas where Americans are either denied access or would find themselves in extreme danger.
Language Officers - these officials operate at a more scholarly level and are responsible for teaching active NCS operatives the necessary lingual skills to blend in with the respective cultural environment.
